North Carolina Community Coalition, a project of the Organizing Empowerment Project, is a coalition dedicated to promoting social justice and civic engagement. Participating in this election is crucial as it determines the leaders who will shape state policies, education systems, and local communities. Your vote directly impacts the governance of local communities and the direction of the state, influencing key issues like voting rights, civil rights, the legality of abortion, LGBTQ+ rights, and worker's rights. The most impactful people in someone's life are their friends and family. Therefore, we are compensating individuals for their time to engage not just with strangers door-to-door, but to discuss the importance of voting with their friends, making their voices heard and amplifying the impact within their personal networks.

Community Mobilizers are individuals who reach out to their networks of friends and family to talk about voting and elections. Community Mobilizers ensure that their friends and family have the information they need to register to vote and are actively engaged in our democratic process.

Anyone can be a Community Mobilizer! We have Community Mobilizers from all walks of life - teachers, students, waiters, people looking for a side gig, individuals who aren’t currently employed, and retail workers. We need excited people who are willing to spread the message about the importance of voting.

We encourage reaching out to your network to remind them about voter registration deadlines and election dates.

You can work your own hours using your own phone. You’ll attend an online training to learn how the program works, and then you’ll call, text, or message the people on your list to share information and have conversations with them a handful of times between now and November 5.

We want you to encourage the people in your network to check their voter registration status, share information on how to register to vote, encourage them to vote, know where their polling place is, and get reminders on deadlines for the upcoming election.
